Not to sound corny but I feel very close to mother earth every year when I am digging in the dirt in our garden. It is a very spiritual/ emotional experience for me. Helping the soil to come back to life is very fulfilling for me. If you want to call that a religious experience, then I have had one. No heaven, no hell and no religion just good old mother earth between my toes. Take care. Still Totally ADD

How to peddle Doomsday for Fun and Profit
by TerryWalstrom injames ussher (1581-1656).
your name is ussher – james ussher – and you are the archbishop of all of ireland.. you are living in the 1600s and are obsessive-compulsive when it comes to speculative ideas.
you are convinced that you alone have the intellect to figure exact dates of all the major events in the bible actually.

Thank you Terry for this bit of cult history. As a child I always wonder how in the world did the wt. have it so right and everyone else was wrong. I now see how they really had everything wrong and nothing right. I think of the fear I lived with as a born-in believing in this crap. I fully understand why it is so hard to leave this cult. Again thank you for this enlightment. Still Totally ADD

Welcome Tobyjones. Your story is a very common one. Its so nice to see another one wake up from the borg. In many ways I am like your father-in-law living on SS and working a patt time job. Being a born-in I took what the borg had say hook, line and sinker untol I wokeup at the age of 53. Both our boys shunned my wife and I until this last summer when my youngest son call and told us how sorry he was for shunning us for so many years and has left the borg. We all had christmas together this last December. Never give up hope you never know how things will come out.
Again welcome and looking forward to more post from you. Take care. Still Totally ADD

Three examples how the borg twist the thinking of their flock. (1) A few months after my parents were badtized my mom was expecting me. She would always tell me the story how shameful she felt being pregnant with me because the end was so close then one day out in field service with another sister they walked by a clothes line full of clean diapers. All this sister could say was "all this world can think of is sex, sex, sex". This sister soon had 4 children. (2) when my wife was first pregnant sisters would come up to her and say "woe to the pregnant women in the last days" (3) Ex circurit overseer would always complain about his wife getting pregnant, so they had to leave the circurit work. The bad thing was he let everyone know as a joke by calling their child circurit breaker. I knew their son as a adult and he was messed up. Very sad. This is how twisted the cult is. I Am Still Here! Another Birthday look back at one helluva lifetime
by TerryWalstrom inwhen the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.the world of 1947--compared to today's world--an alien planet.. the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.. there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.
everywhere you found telephone booths!
a call was a nickel.where did all those telephone booths go?i dunno.where did my whole world go?i dunno.. tv sets were huge boxes with tubes and small screens.

Just saw this thread so Happy Birthday. Born in 1954 and raised in central IL I was 8 years old before we got a dial phone. Before that it was a oak box with a crank on the side hanging on the wall. Turn the crank real fast to get the operator. Then we had a dial phone which was on a party line. Our ring was 2 shorts and 1 long. Most of what you brought out I lived through. I love my 8 track player. Take care. Still Totally ADD

Anything that sounded like rock n roll. I was told by a elder that only country music was acceptable. Then another one said only classical music was OK. So I listen to Emerson Lake and Palmer and one of Deep Purple records. They mixed classical and rock n roll together. I guess of could have listen to ELO also with their song Roll over Beethoven. Lol. My dad would tell me only kingdom music was good to listen to. So I listen to all the rock music. Still Totally ADD

Hidden history of the Watchtower religion
by TerryWalstrom inthe deeper you dig--the less impressive jw’s become!___________________you may think you know the men who are vitally important to the birth of the religion--but chances are good you’ve been kept in the dark.. _____________.
did you know?the 1st case heard by the supreme court of the united states concerning the watchtower society involved a director (an officer) of the watchtower, william franklyn hudgings.. a brief description of hudgings and his character.hudgings was an attorney, quack doctor, self-identified ‘scientist’, a pro-zionist, and religious enthusiast who over the years held various director and officer positions in the watchtower society, and the affiliated people's pulpit association and international bible students association.
at the time of this particular case, william hudgings acknowledged being the corporate secretary of the people's pulpit association and acknowledged that his daily duties included the administrative charge of printing of the watchtower magazine, the bible student's monthly, the kingdom news, and other watchtower publications.. (hudgings was also re-elected to the watchtower society board of directors in january 1919.

Im with you on this zeb. It's a phone not a typewriter. Get your face off the screen and pay attention to whats around you. When walking it is amazing how those light poles and curbs get in their way. Lol. The thing that really shows how addictive these cell phones are is when a family is out for dinner and they are all sitting there with their faces in their phone instead of talking to each other. It seems both sides of the pond has this crazy problem. Take care and watch out for those cell phone drivers. Still Totally ADD
